PUAFIR202B
Respond to isolated_remote structure fire

This unit covers the competency for responding to an isolated/remote structure fire, when working as a member of a team, under direct supervision.Isolated/remote structures include houses and farm buildings. There may be a village with some community buildings or some agricultural buildings. All structures are isolated from each other and the possibility of fire spread between structures is extremely low. This competency does not cover firefighting strategies at fires within any structures, nor fires involving dangerous goods and/or hazardous substances.

Application

The application of this unit in the workplace - the environments, complexities and situations involved - will be written during Phase II of the Review of the PUA00 Public Safety Training Package.

This text will be useful for the purposes of job descriptions, recruitment advice or job analysis; where possible, it will not be too job specific to allow other industries to import it into other Training Packages, where feasible.
